The Motorcraft FL-2062-A is an original equipment (OEM) oil filter engineered for Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles. 

It uses multi-fiber, high-density filter media, designed to trap contaminants while minimizing flow restriction—even as it approaches the end of its service life. 

The filter casing is made of steel and is “ironed” (pressed) for a precise fit; it includes fluting to ease removal and is painted to resist corrosion. 

It includes a pressure-relief valve (bypass) to ensure oil flow during cold starts or if the filter becomes clogged. 

The “A” version (FL‑2062-A) is a redesign over the earlier FL‑2062—some users note that it’s slightly longer.
